Hot melt powder adhesives & laminating solutions

The combining of two or more substrates has been known for many years utilising solvent or water based adhesives, as well as the technique of flame lamination. Today, many of these processes are being replaced by hot melt powder adhesives due to both - environmental and cost factors.

The most conventional processing technique is scatter coating where particle sizes from 200 to 1200 microns are used (and anywhere in between). For specialised applications such as the lamination of breathable laminates, dot coated product are required in order to prevent a significant reduction in the breathability of the laminate so formed. Techniques used are powder or paste dot with preference for the latter process.

As technology progresses, the types of substrates being laminated today are considerably more varied than in previous years. Our products lend themselves readily to the new generation of technical fabrics available and we have an ongoing development programme to meet the ever changing needs of this exciting industry.
